The Cyprus Institute organised the 3rd NESTER School on Concentrated Solar Technologies (CST) in collaboration with four of the most prestigious Research Centres in Europe in this field: CIEMAT (Spain), CNRS-PROMES (France), ENEA (Italy) and RWTH-Aachen (Germany).
The School is directed to Early Stage Researchers and Early Career Professionals. Thus, some background related to the CSP/CST sector would be recommended.
The School offers a fast-paced comprehensive overview of the CST field in the first week, followed by more advanced lectures on selected topics of specific interest to the field, delivered by world experts.
Site visits and hands-on activities took place in the state-of-the-art research infrastructures of the Cyprus Institute.
In 2018, the specialised topics focused on Point Focusing systems.
The school is followed by an international conference entitled
‘The Decarbonisation of The Energy Sector in the Mediterranean Region and the Middle East – The Role of CSP’
between 29th November - 1st December, that all NESTER School participants can attend for free.
NESTER School Participant Benefits
- No registration fees
- Financial support for travel and accommodation available to a selected number of participants
- Free access to the International Conference
- Participants who attended the 1st or 2nd School can only attend the 2nd Week of the School
- 10 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) will be offered by the Cyprus Institute on the basis of attendance and a relevant assignment
